once I was at an ATM and this guy gave me a SOB story about how the ATM just ate his ATM card and asked me to stick my card in there to try to "get his out" or something. I gave him a WTF look, said sorry and walked away.

What's going on?

how the heck would putting in a card in an ATM with one stuck in it help? I wouldn't have.
 
I think some guys use 'skimmers' which they put over the ATM's card slot. It reads all the info on any cards put in to the machine. Then later they come back and pick it up once it's full of data.

Something like that. I saw it on tv and tv doesn't lie.

No, TV does not lie 🙂. I saw the same story in the news. The cought the bastards and stuck 50 ATM cards up their as*es! :Q 😀
 
I saw on tv how they put gunk inside the atm and it will get your card stuck in there, then you both would leave, then hed come back and pull urs out with a pair of pliers...
