From this point on, I say when someone posts a "is this a scam" thread, we tell them no, it's not a scam, the seller/buyer is legit, go ahead and buy/sell.

you'd have to be a complete moron to fall for these scams and if you did, then you probably deserve it.

I am inclined to agree, but come on. I'm always amazed at the emails people want to "double check."

How are you gentleman, you have no chance to survive make your time by sending payment US $1,000 money order to Nigeria. You will receive return money order US $10,000 from prince wealth asset descendant deceased this is a scam and I want to steal your money, please send it to me with all your personal information so that I may take your identity as well.

Obvious is one thing, but I'm sure you're encompassing all threads posted with that question, as your OP implies. Guess what? Some scams are not so obvious, at least not to everyone.

Although I understand the frustration involved in answering the same questions over & over again on certain topic, this isn't one them & I'd much rather see people come on here & ask the question regardless of wether the answer is pretty obvious ... anything that helps prevent scammers from collecting on their dishonesty is worth the trouble.

Some of the scams are getting better though. I almost got suckered by the service that "Names your soul mate". You give it your cell number and it gives you a text message with the name of your soul mate . . . and a $20/month charge on your bill.

By reading the fine print. I stopped when it got to the "enter your cell phone number" field. Yeah, not the most manly of clicks I have ever made, but when you are bored at work, you sometimes click on crap don't you?

I hope that I have made enough posts in hockey threads to hold on to the man card.

I can't recall ever seeing a "is this a scam" thread that wasn't a scam.

How many times have we seen this thread:
"A guy from Nigeria is going to pay me $10,000 to end my auction now. I was only asking $300 for the car. He's going to send me a check for $15,000 from his client and I have to refund him $5000 after the check clears (which will only take 3 days because regulations say my bank only has that long.) Does this sound legit to you guys??

It'd probably spice things up a bit in here if we went along with the OP, but then, it'd totally destroy this as a helping community.

Has there ever been a scam posted here that wasn't obvious? Almost 100% of them fall under one of two categories:
A. Sounds too good to be true
B. Something smells awfully fishy

I could be wrong; please show me that I'm wrong - give me an example of a scam that isn't so obvious.
