Is this a router or ISP problem?

For the past couple of weeks my internet connection gets real slow. It takes forever to open a webpage or do anything over the internet. I just want to know if this could be caused by a router. The slowdown doesn't last real long, just a couple of minutes, but sometimes longer.

I have a Netgear RT314 with the latest firmware and have Comcast@home.

Also, are there any programs that would let me see if there are any bottlenecks in @homes network?

TIA
Steve

Use Ping Plotter - It's very cool and will show you where the packets are slowing down.

Can't you figure out how to open another browser, go to a search engine and type "ping plotter"? Not too difficult. In any case the home page is here.

If you think it's your router, then just unplug it, and hook the cable up directly to the computer for a few hours and see if the slowdowns occur.
