Hello,
as some may know, i am building a computer to be used solely for audio productoin and midi. I have a price quote from a local retailer (i can't build a computer myself). I was wondering if you guys could have a look at it and see if its a decent deal. Here it is:

P4 3.0-800 $340
Asus P4P800 Del $199
1 GB Ram ( 2x512 ) $310
Maxtor 80 GB SATA HD $135
Maxtor 120 GB SATA HD $169
LG Combo Drive $85
Win XP Home $149
Tower with 400Watt $115
ATI Radeon 128Mb dual monitor video card ???

If you want it assembled $35
Windows Installed $75

Total before taxes: $1741
x 14 % GST and PST : 1984.71

Keep in mind that is canadian funds. INUS funds that would be about.... 1290.08 i think

thanks

not too shabby...I'm willing to bet that they just use all the default options for the windows installation, which means SLOW.

After seeing what the next generation procs and PCI-Express will do. I would highly recommend waiting to upgrade.

Use NCIX's PC Builder found here.

And I consider NCIX a bit more expensive ;)

If you don't live in BC, you won't have to pay PST.

Price is a tad expensive, but that may be well worth it depending on the customer service you get.

Not too shabby - Most of the parts are only 10-20 bucks more than I've seen on Canadian websites, which is pretty good for a local store.
