This is the price I'd be looking at:

Computer (mobo, HD, ram, etc) = $120
monitor = $110
cdrw = $40, you mentioned

You gotta remember your stuff is used. I sell p3-450-550 machines with min. 128 ram, 6.4 gb hd, built in network, sound, and video (8 MB), floppy, cdrom, keyboard, and mouse for $150.

But.. you're selling to a friend's friend who may not be too knowledgeable about computers.. you can get away with robbery I let people guess how much I sell my stuff for and guesses start out double what I offer... pretty funny stuff.

Total $540 tops. Shop on the forum probably shave another $35-40 more off. And it will still be usable a year or more from now. Where the K6 III will dead, buried, and rotting in the ground. If he just surfs the net, that is too much money. And if he does more than that, he can much much more bang for his money.
