Is this a P180B v2.0? - Pics

So I unpack my P180B from ZipZoomFly and find that it's different internally then other P180 v1.1's I've put together. It's already got the some of mods I was goint to perform!

I was planning to do a little dremel work and run some of the cables behind the motherboard...

Is this what's to come for the P180? A P182 without the window?

Or did I just luck out and get one that was originally going to become a switftech watercooled P180.

The box still says "1.1"

You know what...

I pasted your pics along-side some pics from the Antec room/booth at CES 2007, using Paint Shop Pro (my weapon of choice).

While it shares MANY of its attributes, it looks like your P180 case is a little shorter than a P182, in the drive cage area (cage appears to be the same size however) and the PS area. I think this extra room, in the P182, is so you can run dual PSs by laying them on their side.

Other than that, I don't see much difference...

Maybe that just the way Antec is making the P180s these days. 😉

Hrm...

Interesting!

The P180 is being replaced completely by the P182, so they've probably already changed the production facilities, even if the boxes don't officially say "P182", several people have already reported getting them despite the box saying P180.

People on other forums like HardOCP have been receiving hybrids which aren't P180's or P182's, i.e. they're missing certain features like the motherboard tray being moved in to accommodate the main power cable... I'm assuming yours is the same, given a US Antec CS rep told a guy at Overclockers UK that the P182 wouldn't be out until April.

If you got lucky though, kudos.

Yes! Good guess!!! 😀

How did you know that?

Dunno 🙂 But I use it often too because its light and easy to work with and decently powerful and loads fast. 😀 I've become so used to it so I just like it. nice to find a fellow psp7 user 🙂
