Yes. Several sites now e-mail me telling me that I left stuff in my cart. Pisses me off.
"To whom it may concern:
I appreciate the hardship that brain aneurysms may cause, but it's clear that someone in your Marketing & Advertising department has experienced one. As a result, this individual must have thought that it would be good for your bottom line to constantly irritate customers with more advertisements than they already have to deal with in a day, and to make it more difficult for them to shop for what they are looking for. But what is alarming is that this idea that squeltched forth from an injured mind was embraced and greenlighted by management.
I advise you to review your internal healthcare policies, and see to it that the affected individuals receive the medical care they clearly require.
And if you keep sending me ads like this, while making my shopping experience more difficult, I'll look for retailers that at least show a modicum of respect for their customers."
Maybe send them something like that?
Simply saying "stop spamming me" wouldn't work, because the Marketing morons would just say, "This is
not spamming. This is targeted advertising," as they perform some simplistic mental gymnastics to shut down any shred of rationality or critical thinking. All you can imagine then is an empty yet smiling stare coming from this person, as you also envision the voided wasteland that resides inside their skull.
(No, I'm not a fan of many marketing or advertising people, in case that didn't come across.

Their primary function is too frequently to find ways of legally lying about their employer's products or services, or ways of irritating people remotely.)
