This is your basic help desk job. 35k only applies if you have a college degree. Otherwise, its a 28k a year job.

Never seen a help desk job ask for programming/database/SQL skills. Is this common?

28k isn't even livable in some parts of the country. You people are either full of shit, or the IT market is bad in the middle of nowhere.

For 28k I'd rather beg outside of a 7-11. Or shit go work for the Geek Squad.

If they really wanted someone decent and capable of doing the described job its worth over 40... I would hope in any location. I should say, if it ACTUALLY requires those skills its worth over 60.
