I mean nvidia rivaling Matrox in the multi-monitor niche????? I notice, lucky for nvidia's sake, he makes no mention of image quality. Isn't one grainy nividia desktop too many as it is? Who the heck would want to see more? HAHA. Let's face it, when talking about 2D, nividia is an Edsel and Matrox is a Bentley. Just goes to show you how slanted someone can be when the advert dollars are pouring in.

Nvidia is making strides in the 2d department, but you're right, they haven't caught up with Matrox or even Ati yet. However, both Ati and Nvidia absolutely slay Matrox in the bandwidth department, making them much faster at displaying two high resolution screens.

As for the claims of Anand being swayed by advertising dollars, I don't think too many here will be swayed by your trolling.

There's nothing wrong with nVidia's 2D by itself, the RAMDAC is fine, the rest however is up to individual manufacturers.

I wonder who will be producing the Quadro's if Elsa bites the dust.
If nVidia did it themselves, they could very well produce cards that could rival Matrox in the quality department.

How well the dual/quad head works is another matter, we'll have to wait for that one.

Offering an opinion isn't trolling, but making unsubstantiated accusations is. For example, it would be okay for me to state an opinion that you have no idea what you're talking about, but suggesting that you're the result of your mother having sex with a donkey -- that would be trolling.

Ahh, come on, it is a FORUM after all. Though I don't agree with DualHead, he's more than welcome to start a thread topic, nearly any thread topic, just as long as he can stand the flamming.

Nvidia has made big strides in 2d quality. If I was Matrox, I'd be more worried about my 3d. I don't know of too many currently offered products that have Matrox as standard equipment, or as an option. They may be big in the proffesional world, but their peice of the pie just gets smaller everyday. I give them a year before they are gone.

The problem is that while Matrox have been sitting comfortably in their little corner of the market, nVidia and ATi have conquerored the rest of the market, and now they're knocking on Matrox' door.

And if Matrox is just gonna sit there without fighting back, nV and ATi will win one of these days.

If anything, they'll win over Matrox simply cause they make so much more money that they can spend on R&D(especially true for nVidia).
