Is this a good W/C set up?

I know this is probably a repeat thread and most people will tell me to search the forums, but I just want a quick answer.

Is this a good set-up for my E6400/680i system?
-------------------
Swiftech:
Apogee GT CPU block
MCP655 Pump
MCW30 Chipset Water-block
MCW60 VGA Waterblock
MCWRAMCOOL VGA-RAM Water-block

eVGA SouthBridge Fan

Typhoon Dual 3.5" Bay Resevoir
-------------------
Right now I have an Antec 900.
Should I just get the MCR220 Swiftech Dual Rad w/ the Radbox
or would it be ok to use a CoolingWorks CoolRad 32T Triple Rad on a RadBox?
I'm probably going to pick up a few Aerocool XTREME fans for the pressure turbines can put out, or maybe Silverstone 9-Blades... any opinions on that?

I'm going to get a newer case later for a new system, but I'm going to migrate the W/C system to it. Should I get a Silverstone TJ07 or an Antec P182? The P182 is nice because it has the pass-throughs for tubing but the set-up for the TJ07 would be advantageous for a W/C system.

Also, would straight-up distilled water be fine? I've heard people swearing by additives and others that swear by straight up H20.

Thanks in advance, and I know Aigomorla will show up inevitably. THANKS.

ummm... how much is your budget? i maybe able to piece a better setup.

Also, you really dont need to watercool the ram. If you want, you can just get a full cover block and swap out pumps with a stronger one, and that would work out fine as well.

Ummm... answer my first ? and i'll help you from there.

ahhh... nice budget... i can build you something thats great then.

Here are the parts you should look for. For now i would think of a way to mount a 120.3 radiator. Try to top mount it. i dont think you can rear mount a PA120.3 because its too big. Your dvi plugs will all be blocked if im not mistaken. So you need to floor mount it until you can find it a good home. IE, TJ-07 is a very nice home.

So:

Radiator: Thermochill PA120.3 140
Waterblock: D-Tek Fuzion 65
Pump: DDC+ /w Petrastechshop.com PetraTop DDC-T01 if i recall. : 100
NB: DangerDen 680i 40
GPU: MCW60 or EK FC7900 or EK FC8800 50-130
Swiftech Micro Res: 26
Tubing: MasterKleer ~ dont know how many feet you need, on average its 10 feet of tubing. On a Complex loop, it can take up to 15 feet. You would have to eyeball an approx, and buy a little bit more to be safe. or just buy 15 feet.
Pentosion G11 + Bio Nuke: 6

427 - 507 depending on your GPU block.

This should give you great performance. I wouldnt watercool the VGA ram as i mentioned. Your better off going a full block, and with that DDC pump combo, you shouldnt have any issues with flow.

Petrastechshop.com is a great place to shop.
Jab-Tech.com is also another great place.
Svc.com

You should find all you need in those 3 stores i listed.

Thanks aigomorla.

Yeah, I'll probably just ditch the Antec 900 and get the TJ07.
It's mad cramped in there. It's great for an aircooled case (I get great temps)
but once you go W/C, it's way too small.

I really wish they sold Thermaltake Kandalf LCS's with the cooling kit optional. I can't stand the original Kandalf, but this case is sweet. The liquid cooling is mediocre (probably on par with top-of-the-line air cooling).

because the only people who should attempt a chilled LCS system are those who mastered water.

And then those who know proper condensation prevention.

If you know those two, then sure, Theres no better way then having a Quad core load in the Negatives, along with your entire board.

But you mess up on one of the above factors i listed, you fry almost 1000 dollars of EQ. 😀

For chilled LCS, condensation prevention is insulation of the socket and tubing, dielectric grease on the back of the board and similar areas, and sealing all areas, right?
Just wondering. I'm not going to attempt a CLCS for at least another year or so.

yup, also the fact that you need a special pump that can handle temps in the negatives, as well as proper insulation of reservoir, not to mention this kind of setup is always big, and external.

Ahhhhh sub ambient cooling... i sure miss my TEC's

another question for aigomorla

if you use a TEC waterblock, do you still need to insulate everything b/c on XS, none of the TEC loops had any insulation except for neoprene and RTV silicone around the blocks themselves.

Sorry to jump in here, but...

Condensation is not a function of what parts you use. It depends on the temperature of those parts. Anything that gets to a temperature at or below the dew point of the air surrounding it will form condensation, be that a pelt, a CPU, tubing, or even a case.
