Hi all

I have a q6600 and Asus p5q mobo, 3.4gig (9x378), vcore 1.40 with a zalman 9700LED cooler

All my NB voltages and stuff are on the minum settings, and its stable.

When I run intel burn in test (linpack) I'm getting temps of like 75c !?!

Is that good or bad?

That vCore is pretty high. At only 3.4gHz you could probably manage it a little lower

Id think about getting a new CPU cooler, something like a Xigmatek S1283 or Sunbeam CCF could knock off quite a bit

Those are pretty high temps, will that voltage go down any?

The 9700 isn't the best cooler for overclocking either.

But for normal use you're probably fine (what temps do you see during typical use?).

durin normal use (web browsing and stuff) temps are just under 40c (ish)

I have pulled the vcore down to 1.35 and it *seems* to be running intel burn in test (on maximum stress) OK. for some reason prome 95 died quite quickly at this voltage.

my temps are now aroun 69-70c
