Analog Internet Access Router w/Integral 4-Port Hub

LinkLink

I know it's not a 10/100 switch but do I really need a 100Mbs switch?
I have a cable modem connection

What I do:-
Surf the web
Download "big" files occassionally
FTP Server

I will be sharing the internet connection with 2 PC's and I'm usually on one PC at a time.

Sweetness,
Mer.

You will probably find a lot of people who have certain opinions on internet access routers. Here is mine.

I have a Linksys 4 port 10/100 router. I haven't had any problems with it and I have never had to get support on it either. A lot of people here like D-Link routers as well. I do know that I love internet routers. They never go down, you don't have to reboot them, and once you have them set up, they run for ages without a problem.

Just make sure you get a nice one.

As for a 100mbps switch, that is just a added feature. I would look to get one with your next switch because it will make your network a little faster. It is kinda hard not to justify getting it actually.

I see you are looking at a Analog router. I don't have much experience with these so I can't give you a good recommendation. I can say for that price, it might be worth looking into. I would also recommend you go to http://www.dslreports.com to see if you qualify to get fast DSL or Cable Modem access. If you spend $20 a month on a second telephone line and $20 a month for your internet account, then you can probably spend $45 a month and dump the extra phone line and internet account and get blazing fast speed with DSL or cable modem.

Just a thought

Take a close look it seems that the Gizmo is only for external regular modem (not Ethernet).

Beside the Network ports, it has only Serial Port.
