Is this a good gaming laptop?

The keys on it look nice, they look like the blocky, flat keys with little gaps between like the MacBook Pro with backlighting. I don't know a whole lot about processors, so is the i7 slow? It seems like 1.6 ghz would be slow, but I'm probably a noob.

The i- series is Intel's latest processors.

You cannot use frequency to compare processors, unless you are comparing within the same architecture.

The i7 is the fastest set of mobile processors currently available.

As for the other potential complaints - check around on the internet for reviews of that laptop.

Okay, thanks. Also do you know if I can underclock the i7? Because I'll use this as my main computer for school also, so running at full capacity for word processing will waste the battery and make too much heat and noise.

The processors already have automatic power-saving built in. I don't know about underclocking it further.

Due to the high demand the Egg had raised the price on that laptop a couple of times already.

This is where I'd buy it http://www.xoticpc.com/asus-g73jha2-order-p-2761.html?wconfigure=yes

But you can also find ~ the same deal(s) at:

http://www.powernotebooks.com/configure.php?special=694

and

http://1toppc.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=G73JH-A2&Category_Code=

FYI, that laptop is so hot it's almost a joke and to the best of my knowledge, no one currently has it in stock; which why the Egg could raise their asking prices. The X1 they offer started out @ $1,429.00 but now is $1,599.00, yikes.
