Is This A Good Fantasy Sports Format?

Ok. You know the typical fantasy baseball/hockey whatever is a live draft, one player per team. How's this though? It is a bit more complicated but I think it would make drafting/the game more fun.

You get a certain amount of budget points. There is a live draft. Each player is put on the auction block and you bid your budget points for them. A great player will probably be bid up pretty high. Only one player per team and after the draft is over, budget points don't matter. Can't pick up players off waivers (you draft some bench guys) but you can make trades.

So what you guys think?

You mean like an auction style draft? i believe some fantasy baseball leagues use that, I've never participated in one though.

It sounds good, but half the league will end up with great teams, the other half will suck, for the rest of the season.
