Is this a good DVD player deal?

I have this. I paid about 100 bucks with rebate and coupon, but anyways.. I don't really have anything to bad to say. It does what I want.

My friend has it, and it works okay overall....

But... it does have some stuttering problems when using the special features on THE MATRIX DVD...

my 2 pennies...

800.com, I did that msn passport deal. with a combo of 10 percent off dvds. it was one hell of a deal thats all I remember.

This is a great DVD player. It has no bells and whistles. But if you want the best bang for the buck for picture and sound output this is an excellent choice (you may also want to take a look at the Pioneer DV-333 as well)

Look at the Toshiba SD-1600. It has most of the features of the high end DVD players (except progressive scan), but can be had for around $180. Very nice units! Has zoom, angle, component video, Spacializer sound (enhances suround sound). Can't recommend it enough!

I bought a DVD-RV30 recently. I am suitably impressed with it and think this is absolutely the best you can buy for this price. You can of course pay more to get more features but would find yourself using the extra features very very rarely. IMHO, of course!

I just ordered the Samsung DVD812 yesterday. I think that DVD player is a great deal for all its excellent features; It plays DVD, VCD, CD, CD-R/RW's, and MP3's. I paid $218 with shipping. Sounds pretty good to me.

Edit: I also forgot to mention that it has a build in Dolby Digital Decoder (AC-3).

I am also a very happy owner of this DVD player. Bought in December from Amazon for $130 net. The only caveat I have is that it supposedly won't play CDRs (much less CDRWs)-the manual warns you not to use them, you'll lose data (???). Not too much a biggie for me-I haven't even tested that to confirm it. Excellent player, like the other posts said, but lacking some bells & whistles that may be found on others.

The KLH mentioned at Best Buy has some hidden features...
It appears to have the same insides and OS as the Apex AD660.
I haven't opened one up yet.
But I have verified that it plays mp3s on CDRs and I have heard CDRW works too. I believe it plays VCD and SVCD as well as mpegs too.

I plan to also use it to listen to CDRs made from the computer. DOes it NOT play CDR?
