Is this a good deal?

I'm looking at making the shift from CRT to LCD in the next month and I don't have a lot of money to burn. I play games occasionally, I'm not hardcore, I do graphics design work and I type a lot. The last thing is the most important, as I'm getting this as a graduation present for myself for my MA in history. I really like how the monitor can swivel vertically for programs like word.

-Anyway, I like the monitor's looks, price, and features. Is there anything that I should know about? Other suggestions?

- Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I know that this probably belongs more in the video forum but last time I posted there I didn't get a response for three days.

wait for one of those dell deals to come by. you can usually get a nice LCD with DVI and pretty good specs for a decent price.

I have a ViewSonic VP171B-2 at home. Very similar specs to the one you linked to and I've had no problems at all with it. (although I think some other people have.. there should be a thread about it in the Video forum)

I haven't heard much about the LG L1780U, but it looks like a solid monitor... and it sounds even better with the $120 in MIR.

Definitely wait for one of the Dell deals to come around. I just picked up 4 19" Dell LCDs for $315 each.
