Is this a good deal?

"I got a retail MSI geforce 4 mx-420 that runs at 460 speeds, would be a big improvement over the geforce 2.

Best part is that it has vga out, s-video out, and also the rca out that you require. Its a fairly low profile card so it fits in any system. I have installed ramsinks on the ram to overclock it more and keep it stable, great card and the RCA output works great, watched alot of movies on it.

This would be $50 shipped (big heavy retail box, cables, cd's etc included).

"

And if this won't fit in offtopic...I'm sorry

I just think 50 seems a little excesssive for a Mx420, or am I just being a cheapskate?

compared to new cards, it's not *that* bad of a deal. but when you look at the other cards you can get for a little more that offer superior performance the deal becomes even worse.

Although the price may be okay for what it is, i would pass on this and look for a gf3ti200 or 8500(le)/9000/9100

well...i'm running a Geforce2 GTS-V (the core is clock at 175... and its SDR)

and this card has an RCA output

I offered him 30 dollars shipped...fair or not?

Okay then...I'll have a higher clocked card + same memory + tvout = happy 4 me

My geforce2 GTS will still play JediKnight2 silky smooth at 1204*768*32 So I'm a happy camper 😀 Or should I be?

Once I land a job though I'll replace my 13 inch TV though with something nice. Some flatscreen (ie, not flat panel...) TV ~200/50 should do the job

I wouldn't do it. What's so special about RCA out anyways, you do the same thing with an svideo - rca cord...

He answered me saying 45 and justified the price

My card does in fact have the DDR Ram, it is the retail MSI GF4MX-420, I agree that most used the non ddr ram, but mine has DDR, huge letter right on the box "64 meg DDR SDRAM"

It is also the only GF4 I know of that uses a RCA output, that is why it was quite a bit more expensive for me to buy than any other GF4.

This one also has the ramsinks attatched that I paid $18 plus shipping for. I have yet to see any other GF4 mx use ramsinks, and they do make a big difference as the overclock on the card is much better. This is not the biggest issue for you as you sound like more of a Anime person than a gamer.

The last thing and likely the most important for you is that the newer and cheaper GF4mx series cards used a cheaper RCA/s-video out chipset, that I have seen used in my friends card and... well... it was not pretty. The display was kinda twisted and slightly warped, even on a brand new Sony TV.

Another thing is that I am shipping from Canada, slightly more for me to ship to you in USA, and it is a big and heavy box.

I think we could make it swing for $45 shipped. Do you have anything interesting to offer me that we could work a deal for, most anything computer related is of interest.

Sorry guys...I may know the technology and where to get the best deals new, but on a used area i'm about as clueless as G W Bush

The DDR version of this card uses a 64bit bandwith, makeing it the exact same speed as the 128bit SDR version. Still not a good deal. At least that I don't think so anyway.
