I've been waiting for a few weeks on a deal for a light gaming laptop. I missed all the good recent deals on the XPS M1530's.

This seems to be a decent price. I guess i'm looking for someone to convince me to buy this, so tell me your opinion!

Normally $899 from Dell. And that price is the basic model. Not bad at all.

Not to bad. I had a 1720 ordered, but went to a Staples to see it in person and hated it. It is HUGE! But then again, it is a desktop replacment. If you don't plan on lugging it around everyplace you go, they are nice.

I just got a XPS 1530 and I love it. What was the price/specs for the 1530 you looked at?

Mine is a 2.5GHz T9300 / 4GB RAM / 250GB 7200rpm HDD / 8600GT 256MB / LED LCD / Intel Wireless AGN / Bluetooth / 8x DVD RW / Vista Home Premium / 3 year warranty with accident protection / spare AC adapter. I paid $1378. I got one hell of a deal.

Again, i'd look into the 1530 again. You won't regret it.

Pretty good deal, you might want to check delloutlet.com too. They have a lot of 1530's with 8600GTs.

There are also 1720's with the same specs for about $689 if you look long enough - it's updated constantly.

I went ahead and bought a new one. This seems like a good enough deal and i really need to replace my current laptop. I paid $779.23 + tax for it with the same specs as my OP.
