Hmm... looks like a pretty good deal, and the seller seems reputable enough.

based on price and current trends, I'd say that camera is about as good as 15% of a playstation 3.

The camera itself is good, the lenses suck and will probably make the camera suck as well. Your best bet is to buy the camera by itself then get a 50mm f/1.8 or any other cheap but still good lens.

Lenses make the camera.

Looks like a nice deal. And they are reputable sellers, I bought a Nikon coolpix 5000 from them several years back and had fast shipping and no problems, still using the camera

Huh?

He means that PS3s are going for about $2,860 on eBay right now, and 15% of that is about $430.

Yeah sorry, I don't know anything about cameras. I was just going on the assumption that something is worth what people are willing to pay.

The Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 shouldn't be more than 100 dollars and is a great starter lens.

If you want a decent "all-around" lens, the Sigma or Tamron versions of the 18-200 lens are both pretty good for just under $400, and they cover a very wide range of focal length.

Who cares about focal length when your images look like crap?
Those superzooms are built cheaply, and probably come with shoddy coatings. I have Sigma's professional 28-70 F/2.8 EX lens, and even that looks like junk. And by junk, I don't mean sharpness and detail as people always become overly focused on. I mean colors and contrast, which I find, is far more important to creating a good image than detail.
Here's a comparison between the sigma and my 1972 Pentax 50mm F/1.4 prime
You'll quickly notice which one is which.

I dont really want a starter lens, i want something a little better i don't mind paying around 200 for a good lens, can you show me something els

im sorry but i really dont know anything about cameras

50mm F/1.8 is not a starter lens. Pros use it all the time. It'll beat $2000 zooms in image quality. No joke. 50mm has been the standard lens on cameras forever.

IMO I'd get this camera.. MUCH more robust camera than the D50.. it's comparable with the D80 in features! But the image quality is about the same as the D50/D70 given that it uses the same sensor.

Yeah but pentax lenses aren't cheap and third-party support for pentax is rather limited. That's what's keeping me from jumping on the K10D.
Not sure where you're coming from.
I find pentax lenses to be cheaper considering they jumped ship to digital lenses, which costs a lot less to make than full frame, and has higher quality. Take the Pentax 14mm F/2.8 for example. It's rated higher than any of the full frame 14mm F/2.8 made by canon and nikon, and costs half the price at $700! Not to mention it's not big and bulky.
No other brand supports the cropped format as pentax does IMO.
The 16-45 F/4 is a near L quality lens for $350 after $100 rebate.
There's the 12-24mm zoom, which costs significantly less than canon's 10-22.
Pentax's 50mm F/1.4 prime is rated to be the highest, and costs less than the competition too. It could be found as low as $180 new. Every other manufacturer is selling theirs for $300+.

Not to mention it supports the millions of lenses its ever made since the 1960s, which IMO, are superior than today's lenses. Pentax competed neck with neck with zeiss in the 60s-early 70s. Their lenses are about equal in build and image quality.

What about that lens, is it as good at the other one

Well people already told you their thoughts on low end zooms.
If you want to get the jack of all trades lens, that does nothing well, then that's your perogative.
It all comes down to the photographer in the end anyways. So if that's what you want, then get it.
