Is this a good 3d Mark for my system?

I think it's OK, Im geting 2019 with my Savage4(it's also with 64Bit memory interface like the TNT2 M64)

My system:

ACORP 6ZX86(6BX86 Bios - need to detect the Copermine CPU)
Celeron2 566@850
64Mb PC133 @100 222
Savage4 16Mb AGP

Can u tell me whats ur CPU score?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! 🙂 Why do you people REALLY care about 3DMark? It has no use when comparing systems. Benchmark Quake III or something. Even UT is a better benchmark than 3DMark.

I have a retail 64 mb vivo Radeon, not oc, so it is running at 183/183, using the 3063 drivers (came with the cd, no registry tweaks. I got a score of 3714 at 1024*768*32, z-buffer 24bit, frame buffer triple, vsync off, d3d hardware T&L. At 1024*768*16, z-buffer 16bit, d3d hardware T&L.

Timedemo1 Q3 1024*768 32 bit everything on max 58 fps.

My system (Dell XPS T500)
P3 500 mhz
Intel 440 bx
7200 13.6 hdd
Soundblaster live
256 100 (mhz mb) ram
17 " dell monitor
8* dvd rom

I upgraded my TNT2 (Viper 770d) and cinemaster decodercard to the Radeon 64mb vivo retail.

With my tnt2 I got a 3dmark score of 2481 at At 1024*768*16, z-buffer 16bit.

I have dropped the cinemaster decodercard, because I was not able the use it with my radeon. My Radeon produces a much better and sharper playback than my decodercard, so I don't consider it as a loss.

I upgraded to 128 MB of PC133 Memory (made my NCP).
The 3dMark is now 2002.
Deeko, I do not have Quake 3 or UT, so I use 3dMark (I am a car fanatic, so I like games like NFS: HS etc...)

In Sandra, The memory benchmark gets:
Int ALU/RAM=352 MB/s
Float FPU/RAM=384
Is this reasonable? Is there any settings that would be incorrect in the BIOS?

Their bsae Duron 600 system gets:
Int ALU/RAM=367 MB/s
Float FPU/RAM=400

I had a tnt2 m64 32mb 😱 up until last month when I got a Radeon 32 ddr. 😀

I got about 1900 at 1024x768x16bit in 3dmark on a PIII 500. Since your processor is a little faster than mine, your score is just about right.

"I got about 1900 at 1024x768x16bit in 3dmark on a PIII 500. Since your processor is a little faster than mine, your score is just about right."

With cards like TNT2 M64 and Savage4 ur 1024x768x16 score will be the same even if u use 1,2Gig CPU. Ur limited by the cards memory(it's 64Bit memory interface). The big diff u can see at 640x480 and 800x600.

here is my score at 640x480x16:

3D Marks - 3695
CPU marks - 242

Game1L - 77,2
Game1M - 53,3
Game1H - 23,3

Game2L - 73
Game2M - 50,5
Game2H - 30,7

High Polygon count:

4Lights - 3675
8Lights - 3168

My sys:
MB - ACORP 6ZX86
CPU Celeron2 566@850
RAM - 64Mb PC133 @100 222
GAINWARD CARDexpert SG4( 16Mb Savage4)

hey ppl whats ur CPU marks?

Just set the memory to Auto in the BIOS...

Sandra Memory Benchmark:
Int ALU=407 Mb/s
FPU= 484 Mb/s

At 1024x768 @ 16 bit

3d Mark:
2050

CPU 3d Mark:
215

I'll do some more testing at 640x480.

I have a small database of different systems and have got the following scores:

Pentium MMX + ATI Rage pro + 48MB EDO = 69
Pentium 2 266 + Riva TNT + 32MB PC66 = 2327
Cyrix M2 300 (225mhz) + Riva TNT + 96MB EDO = 962
Pentium 2 400 + Riva 128ZX + 64MB PC100 = 861
K6-2 500 + Voodoo 2 Banshee + 64MB PC100 = 1785
K6-3 450 + Riva TNT + 64MB EDO = 2337
K6-3 450 + Riva TNT + 128MB PC100 = 3126
AMD Duron 750 + GeForce2 MX + 192MB PC100 = 5461

also, I think that 3D Mark is quite a neat benchmarking tool.

My CPU 3D mark is 10,636, the duron gives a realy good score here.

Holdencommodore, I think you definately need to upgrade your Graphics card soon, it will bottleneck you a bit for intensive games like NFS etc, since you have got a Duron, you are obviously a person who looks for value, so why not go for a GeForce 2 mx or any good card for around £100 GBP, even the Voodoo 3 3000, gives better results than the M64 despite it having half the memory.

also, DRYNDRYN2, remember that the overall 3D Mark does tank into account the CPU speed as well so having a 1.2ghz would up to score a bit.

That CPU score(10000+) is from 3dM 99 MAX i think. Whe test with 3D Mark 2000 here.

Well, abouth the 1,2gig CPU. My score @1024x768x16 is 2019 with 850 CPU, I set the FSB @ 105Mhz(892Mhz CPU) and my 3DMark score now is 2026, nothing mutch. thats because of the 64Bit memory interface.

I made a mistake about my CPU mark.... it is accually around 212 - 213. Is this right for a Duron 800??

is this okay?

Fair enough, I was gonna download 3D Mark 2000 but it was pretty big and at the time I did not have toll free internet access, I may wait for it to come on a cover CD.

Mind you, are the game FPS affected that much, I take it 800x600 is low or medium on 3D Mark 2000.

Deeko: I'm certainly not basing any assumptions re: system performance on 3D Mark. However, it does produce a "number" on my system that is relative to the "numbers" it produces on other systems, does it not?

It produces numbers, yes, but they aren't accurate numbers. Sometimes, people with ghz CPU's and GTS' have 3DMarks under 3000. It isn't accurate, it can be inconsistant, and some people think it's the greatest benchmark ever, when it really isn't.

I say it's good to compare with other systems..... give or take 1000-1500 3DMarks 🙂

I only get 7175 on my system below and I've seen reports of 1Ghz T-Birds hitting 8500 on madonion.com ... it can't be very accurate to compare with other systems, just with your own, IMHO.

I think 3D Mark is a reasonable benchmarking package when you remember that it's free.

I doubt there are many here who base their judgement of a systems performence totally on benchmarks rather than actual speed in real applications.

Corm

It is a good program - especially for people like me who don't have the Quake benchmark. Got mine form the Australian Personal Computer cover CD. Updated to version 1.1.

These are my improved results by O/Cing the TNT2 M64 using TNTClk.

"dang these are low scores peeps, people show the big ones"

Fine, fine, got 7050 with my Athlon 700 @ 784, 128mb RAM, and a Leadtek Geforce2 GTS 32mb. Defult setting of course, so 1024x786@16bit. I have a rather high score (after some tweaking) for a Classic Athlon at that low speed and only a 32meg GTS. Before tweaking or OCing I think I got around 6400, I'm gonna try it at 640x480 resolution to see a score in the 20 thousands lol.
