For something with those amenties, is that a fair price to pay? I couldn't even begin to ballpark what the going rate for furniture is. I don't want to get ripped off.

To me, quality furniture is something you pass down to your grandchildren. I think you just want something contemporary, that's functional and cheap. This ain't going in your living room, is it?

The value of furniture is all in the build quality. While that piece doesn't strike me as being worth that, you could probably find a similar design at officemax for <$200 or at a boutique store for >$800 I wouldn't recommend purchasing it online without finding some sort of forum with satisfied customers, if that is what you are planning.
