Is this a decent card for SB?

Hey all i finally chose a card i liked but i am wondering if this will work with sb and the limitations of the gpu of p67's..

I'm not sure I understand your question. The card will be compatible with any p67 board, just as any PCI-E card would be, but good for what? What are you using it for?
 
thats a good graphics card, but what is it you are using your pc for? im guessing from the sb processor that your gaming? if so what games are you playing and what res do you play at?
 
ahh yes sorry i am gaming at 1920-1080. Ahh okay i was assuming it being oced alrdy would kill with the p to h67 limitations but u summed it up!!

gonna also run this off a i5-2500k leaving stock.
 
Still not sure what you're talking about. What limitations are you referring to? And why did you buy a K model SB CPU if you have no intention of overclocking?

What are you trying to say; that you can't overclock a GPU on an P67 platform? Since when? I think you are misinformed.
 
Yeah I think you're right, but I think he was trying to ask if a pre-overclocked GTX 460 was a decent card to be paired with his p67/2500K build. He seemed to think that somehow GPU overclocking was locked out on the P67 platform. However he hasn't provided a lot of detail as to what games he plans on playing, detail settings, etc.
 
Or maybe he is thinking that his GTX 460 can't run overclocked as advertised on P67 because P67 doesnt support GPU overclock (that is true only for integrated graphics on CPU die, not for dedicated graphics FYI if that's what was on your mind).

GTX 460 is a fine card for that build, however not all games will run maxed out on that resolution.

Sry if that's what you meant with GPU o/c locked out of P67 platform, could be that we were thinking the same thing.
 
If he's going to overclock that cpu then I'd say NO it's not a good card for Sandybridge. He'll be horribly GPU limited and if he's spending money on the upgrade then he should buy a MUCH better video card (assuming he's going to do some gaming) I'd say minimum 570 or 6950 to get the most out of the cpu setup, 460's a good card but is no-where near as high up there in GPU hierarchy as Sandybridge is in CPU hierarchy.
