Is this a craigslist scam?

I put an old laptop up on craiglist w/ no hard drive so far today I've gotten like 5 e-mails from people either saying "what's your phone number" or "call me" and then some area code not from my area.

Obviously these are all scammers but I am just curious what would they do with a phone number or what purpose would me calling them serve?

uh, people don't always have area codes for the area they live in....ever hear of...cell phones?

the cell thing does make sense but the thing that struck me as odd was all the e-mails looked the same.

As for expensive it's not. It's $70 bucks for a 4 year old laptop.

How is it obvious that they are scammers?

You could try calling them, if they're paying cash what does it matter.
