It's a Mobile Barton 2400+ cpu. 333mhz fsb is not true, they are 266fsb on mobile bartons.

Based on the quality of their website, why not buy from a more reputable retailer? Newegg.com for example. ;)

EDIT: Even though it is 266mhz fsb at stock speeds, you can easily overclock these CPUs to the 400mhz fsb speed, and also raise the multiplier. Many people get 2.2ghz - 2.5ghz on the 2400+ cpus. Well above stock speeds.

Very good choice for a chip. These things are getting some great overclocks. But, Cheetah is correct - go to a different retailer - newegg.

thanks i thaught they didnt make a 333 mhz mobile barton.
but hey i bet you could get one of these to run at 2 gigs on passive cooling for a silent system. prob would do 11 * 200 @ 1.56

You want to overclock without a cpu fan? Good luck with that!

these chips run cool at low volts at 1.6vcore i feel sure that my zalman flower woud keep it at 41-42 c at idle with no fan running i will test with mine this weekend and let you know

All Athlon XP's run cooler with less voltage, but if you think you're going to be able to overclock without a cpu fan, you've got another thing coming. Of course, if you are only planning to use it for something along the lines of web-surfing, that's different.;)

I suppose if he doesn't go over 200x10, he'll be fine. When mine was running at 2.16ghz with my fan on my heatshink blowing the wrong way (away from the sink, had to fix that), I was idling in the mid 40s. You'll probably be looking at idling in the upper 40s, lower 50s without a fan altogether.

No way will you get to those speeds passive. I have a passive barton it's UNDERCLOCKED by 650 Mhz and UNDERVOLTED by 0.2 and still runs mid 60's with a very expensive 700g all copper HS.

unpluged my fan and idle temps got to 56 deg c
i stand corrected but still i do beleive an xp2400 at stock speed and voltage with this heat sinkcould be run passivly for a silent unit it would be great to not have to listen to 7 fans all the time.

I passive cool the 45W version of this chip with a zalman copper flower @ 1.2GHz and 1.25 Volts. My guess is it uses about 20W.

Default Watts * (Overclocked or Underclocked Mhz \ Default Mhz) * (Overclocked or Underclocked Vcore \ Default Vcore)^2 = Overclocked or Underclocked Watts

Here's the 35W wonderchip: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=19-103-439&depa=0
