Is this a ATX motherboard? can this case take a ATX motherboard?

I have a gateway G6 400 and I am wondering if this case will take the ATX motherboards. From the looks of it,it looks like most of the motherboards will go right into it.The board is one peice and the computer is a pentium 2 400 about 2-1/2 or 3 years old.I had the power supply and video card out at the time I took the photos.

Here are the photos:

Thanks.

Hi!
It looks like a atx-board to me, but the pic of the top of the mb
was not that sharp so i am not shore about the main power supply plug.
Mabe you have to get another power supply.........
This board looks like the one in my Ibm 300 mhz, and that rig has an AT power supply.

Good luck

nice feet. 🙂

Looks like standard ATX to me too.... An again, be VERY careful about that power supply. Get one that's APPROVED for either AMD or P4 depending on your platform choice.

You might want to check out the case/mobo connectors for the LED's and stuff. I couldn't see them (or maybe didn't recognize them) in your shots. Should be a bundle of small wires, mostly ending in small 2 and 3 pin connectors. I've seen a couple of vendors' cases that used other attachments.

It's hard to tell by your pictures. However if you have the "curved" case, that my girlfriend has , .........

1) Yes, you can fit an ATX motherboard in there

2) Good luck getting a "power supply " to fit.

I put my old parts in my Girlfriends Gateway computer case .

I tried to convince her to get a new case , but she kept putting up a fuss about keeping the Gateway case.......she liked the way it looked..............women!!!!!

Anyways, I managed to get my ABIT Bh6 in there running a pentium 700, with Geforce 2, cheapo sound card, and modem. The motherboard fit there with no problem, and things were pretty easy to install.....(did have to put the cdrom in another drive bay, because of the shape)

The was one problem , though. You will not get a power supply to fit in the back. The case is proprietory, meaning some parts are specially made to fit in the design of the case ( same with the cdrom as I mentioned above).

I don't know if you can order parts like new power supplies from Gateway......I never tried. I just kept the 135w power supply that came with it. 135w is VERY low by today's standards, but it's enough to keep her system running ok.

But , if you're planning on getting an AMD system, your going to need a good power supply, and it may not fit.
