It was posted in HD, but since it's only around for a day and no one seems to be responding there, I figured I would try here for more coverage.

it doesn't have to be uber super quality, but I want something better than the local wal-mart special.

I've played guitar for a few months and wanted to continue, but my friend had to take his guitar back with him and I didn't have the funds to buy one at the time. Now I have the funds, but I don't want to get this if it's ultra-crappy. so-so will do fine for the time being.

I've never heard of it before, but I'd be wary. For $50 you get a guitar, tuner, bag, strap, etc... Try looking on craigslist for something used.

My first electric guitar was an Aria, and it was a pretty decent one. Granted, my step-dad who's played guitar for many years picked out that specific one, and this was fifteen years ago, so who knows.

Damn, even going to ebay is NSFW. I'm not gonna post the link, but if you look at musical instruments, under guitars, you'll know what I mean.

They're meh. About the same as the packs you get from Target or Walmart, but half the price.

I am now recommending all new guitar players get this guitar:

This is the one!

i hate websites that allow you to review a product you haven't bought. it's fucking annoying.

Spend $150ish, at guitar center (if you have any close) that can get you a starter kit with a decent guitar (Ibanez, cheap fender, etc).

Are you looking accoustic or electric? Pawn shops and craigslist can be a good idea.

I just got a Washburn X-10 as my first electric. It sounds great after I restrung it, but I'm a noob. What do I know. For 169$ new, I'm not complaining.

But, the the amp I got to go along with it freaking rules. Way better than anything in it's price range that I could get locally.

Save yourself the money and buy a really good one. Because you won't be happy with a cheap pos. And you'll end up buying a good one later anyways. Trust me I did the same thing.

You cant go wrong with a Agile I have the Valkyrie lll HSBF and the AL-2000 (les paul copy) excellent guitars for the mony. There service is the best out there.

There are TONS of perfectly good starter guitars that can be had for cheap. Unfortunately, you need to know how to play guitar to know whether or not they're any good...

You do NOT need to pay 800-1000 for a good guitar. You do not need to pay even 500. There are tons of good rifles to be had in the 250-400 range, and if you start looking used it really opens up. For a starter, almost any 200 guitar will suffice.

rifles?
