Is this 4k television limited to 30 hz?

Software upgrade won't be possible on these older LG units, it'll be hardware upgrade which I hear could range from $200 - 500.

LG has a newer 55" with HDMI 2.0 built in that is $1700... I'd get that instead, considering the potential cost of the hardware upgrade for the older model.

The input lag is terrible on last year's LG sets also, around 100ms in Game mode. Not sure how the 2014 versions compare.

On the newer LG with HDMI 2.0, how do we get a 60hz 4k signal to it from our vid cards?

Simple as DP to HDMI 2.0 adapter?

AFAIK there aren't any vid cards that have HDMI 2.0 ports available.

Exactly. The only way to get 4k at 60hz is via display port with current cards.

You are right, no way to utilize the HDMI 2.0 ports yet... the DP to HDMI adapters out now only support 1.4a.

That said, GPUs with HDMI 2.0 should be out by the end of this year/early next hopefully.
