I have an A64 2800+ running at 1.98 GHz so effectively its a 3000+
I have a 9800 Pro running at 420 core and 360 memory
I got a score of 14949.

Is this good or should it be higher? If so, whats going on?

That score seems low to me.
I scored 18394 with a Athlon moble 2500+ @ 2550 and my 9800 Pro
at 400 core and 350 memory.

I would try locating a driver removal tool and reinstalling your video
driver if you havn't done that yet.

What dlogic said, plus check and see that you're running 3dmark at default settings, which is 1024x768 with no AA and AF enabled. Also, check in your video card's control panel that it does not have AA or AF forced on. Make sure they are set to application preference for both direct3d and opengl. Also while you're in there, make sure vsynch is turned off.

And most important, 3dmark is a Syn. benchmark so take its results with a grain of salt.
