Question Is this 32gig of real memory in single channel or dual or ??

This this 32gig of memory, and 512 gig ssd, can you use ONLY this memory ? and will it work in all motherboards ? New to optane, but this seems like a good price for this if it works.

I call that Intel's scam. Trying to boost their slow QLC with not that fast Optane cache. It's ok if you want great access times but other than that, it's unremarkable.

What do you want Optane for? To use as a pagefile drive?

Cheapest one available that can be considered real Optane. You can use this as a boot+storage drive by connecting it to M2 slot with the provided adapter. The 10/11 microsecond response times for read/write make this a screamer.

Optane isn't RAM... it's more of a Cache you can add on and if you use Linux you can use it as an SSD. It's more of a cash grab though than a real performance booster.

The OP wasn't that clear to me. "Which 32GB RAM?" Then somebody mentions Optane.

I'm using a dated Z170 board and a 7-Gen processor. I wouldn't ever need more than 16GB of RAM -- UNLESS . . .

Unless I can use it with PrimoCache for an L1 cache. Once I've got stable 32GB RAM -- see me recent thread -- I may increase it to 64. Optane will work with Primo, but . . . so what?!
