It has been snowing and raining here for quite a while, and although I shine my boots or my uniform shoes every night, they are pretty much dull and crappy looking when I get to work. Starting to tick me off. I use plain old Kiwi Black polish and edge dressing.

There's no shoe polish that I know of that can withstand water for a reasonable period of time while maintaining the nice shine on the shoe. The porous nature of the leather on the boots makes it difficult to make a polish that shines while withstanding the effects of the weather.

Judging by the amount of products that are available, I'm certain there has to be such a polish, but I doubt it will shine well and it.

Here's an alternative that will withstand the rain/snow, but it's not a polish, rather, it's more like paint.

Leather Luster

Don't let the 'high-gloss finish for the life of the leather product' spiel fool you. The shine of leather luster is amazing. However, it will dull with time and the product will need to be reapploed.

not that i know of unless you want to get into hiking boots... then there are plenty (look for Gore-Tex), but they ain't cheap

on a side note... most camping store sell this stuff that you can spray or paint on almost all cloth materials to make them waterproof
