Because you get to blow sh!t up. That's why.

I play thru the game without cheating usually once, but after that you have to screw around with it, right?

Gotta replace a config file in the far cry dir and then run in devmode. Google it. Can also do some cool stuff with the graphics in devmode, mostly playing with lod levels, but its nice to make the terrain max detail all the way out so it doesn't look chunky in screenshots.

Ok, I replaced the *.lua file.
Then I added "-devmode" to the end of the shortcut to the exe and to the exe. neither worked.
What was I supposed to do?

The name "C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Crytek\Far Cry\Bin32\FarCry.exe -devmode" specified in the target box is not valid. Make sure the path and fiel name are correct.

In devmode, hit backspace for god, and I think it's the "F" keys for ammo and other stuff (I know F4 makes you fly ). For console commands, you have to use a "\" before the command. But seriously, this stuff is all over google...

The trouble I am having is not find the cheats using Google, but rather making them work in the game.

Open up Notepad.

Type the following...

c:

cd

cd Program Files

cd Ubisoft

cd Crytek

cd Far Cry

cd Bin32

FarCry.exe -devmode
____________________________

Now save the file with a .bat extension instead of a .txt.

You can change the icon if you wish.

Double-click on the .bat to start the game. Your cheats should work now.
