Is there way to check if recipient read the email in MS Exchange?

I know you can recall the email, which is awesome, with in an exchange email server. But is there like a status feature which shows that the recipient read it or not? I keep hearing that there is, but I can't find it.

I'm almost positive that's soley configured on the client side. Most email programs have an option to request a read reciept in their options.
