is there such thing as ethernet/wireless pcmcia card for laptop? like one that can double as an ethernet card and also do wireless? I only have one slot....

I think my sister had one. She was able to surf the internet without any connection to the desktop computer. Or was it just a modem, bah, i don't know.

There are internet routers, now, that have a wireless port as well as the usual ethernet ports.

I've never seen a combo ethernet/wireless card. If they existed, they'd be pretty expensive I'm guessing.

I have never seen one either. Nice thing about PCMCIA cards though, they are hot-swappable (through software) and they are only a few millimeters thick, so it doesn't take up much space to carry one around. If you must have both network devices connected at once, then you could get a USB NIC (limited to 10Mbps).
