Is there such thing as 4 pin to 3 pin converters?

I'm planning on getting the Coolmaster Cool Drive 4 temperature monitor/fan controller. However, 2 of the fans in my case have the large 4 pin molex connectors. I was wondering if there was any converter I could buy so I could control them, since the Cool Drive 4 fan controller only has 3 pin slots.

Thanks for any help

Yep, svc.com and other cooling oriented stores offer them. Make sure the fan controller can support the wattage, however. One of the reason certain fans use 4 instead of 3 is that they are power hungry. Also check the controller doesn't come with the adapters already. My Vantec Nexus came with 2 4-pin to 3-pin adapters and 2 3-pin extenders (which can easily be cut to wire stuff in as you please as well...).

Ok, thanks. The fan controller I'm getting can handle up to 18 watts. I can't find out how many watts my 4 pin fan uses (it's the one that came installed with the Antec Sonata). Is there a good chance that I won't be able to use it?

The fan's label should have an indication of how many amps it draws. Multiply that by 12V, and you have watts. For 18 watts, the fan must not draw more than 1.5Amps (1500 mA).
