Is there such a thing: Original Mario Brothers/ Super Mario Bro. for PC?

thatsright

Well I remember 'back in da day' that when I had the original Nintendo and then Super Nintendo (or SNES) my favorite games were of course, Mario Brothers and Super Mario Brothers. Has anyone ever ported these two games so I could play it on my PC. I don't know if Nintendo has anything out there like this, or not😉 I have XP, would I need to run some ported version of the game on a ancient O/S like Win95, or even 3.1-GASP!!

BTW, I don't have the original Nintendo or SNES, nor do I intend to buy it again.

Thanks for any suggestions.

I always thought "Mario Bros." and "Super Mario Bros." were the same thing, whats the difference?

Mario original was on NES, also SNES in Mario Allstars(what else it was on I'm not sure). Super Mario Bros was on SNES. Damn that game was good.

Wrong dude.

Mario Bros=Super Mario Brothers.

You are thinking about Super Mario World for SNES.

Well Eli, I have no idea where/how to do this. Any links with info on how/where I can get this done. I've never done this before. Thanks

wrong.. two separate games

Mario Brothers

Super Mario Brothers

Maybe I'm a bit confuesd. I'm refering to the Mario Brothers that came with the original Nintendo. And then also the 1st Mario Brothers (not sure which version) that was released for the SNES.

if you end like me, you'll have to start googling this stuff... after some time you know how things work and have your sites. then, when you think: that's great somebody will show you what p2p means and you feel really dumb again... 😛

Ug jeez guys. How can you read AT and not know this 🙂

Mario Bros=Arcade version released on the NES

Super Mario Bros=Original pack in game with the NES. This is the one most folks are used to. Mario Bros is the one that is just one screen large and has the bouncy walkways.

Super Mario World=Original pack in game with the SNES

And yes, Super Mario Bros was released for the PC in like 95.

If you ever read "Masters of Doom", it explains how when Carmack created the side-scrolling technology on PC for Commander Keen, him and the rest of id Software (or Softdisk at the time) created a perfect port of Super Mario Bros. and sent it to Nintendo only to get a letter to say they weren't interested in the PC market (but nice work). So, if Nintendo released Super Mario Bros. sometime after that, I wasn't aware.

thatsright:

for emulators... emuchina.net is your best bet. Every single snes/nes rom EVER and like 95% of n64, mame, etc ROMs.
