Is there such a thing as an S-video to vga adaptor?

Hello, I was contemplating on whether it was possible to use my Playstation2 or XBOX with my Samsung 225BW LCD Monitor. All the monitor has is a DVI and VGA input. Is there any affordable way to do this? Or ridiculously expensive way, for that matter?

Yea, there are converters out there that will do it. Wouldn't spend less than about $150, and the sky is the limit on the highend. Often called scalers, just do a google search there is plenty of information out there if you look.

Thanks, I'm checking it out, but it does seem expensive so far... Hmmm, maybe I should have bought an HDTV instead of a monitor....

If you have that hooked up to your computer, you can get a capture card for the computer and hook up the consoles to it that way. One such product which claims to be for such a purpose is the Adaptec GameBridge.

Alternately you can sell your monitor and buy a TV. Better yet, sell it and buy a monitor WITH inputs. My wife's Dell 2007FPW (20" wide) has VGA, DVI, composite and s-video inputs.
