Is there such a thing as an external DVI hub?

We all know about external USB hubs that allow us to connect more USB devices to our computer than would otherwise be possible with just the computer's stock USB ports.

I'm working on a set-up for a friend and she has an LCD monitor with only a single DVI input. She would like to be able to connect a second computer to this monitor, but doesn't wanna suffer the image quality drop from using the analog input.

Do any of you know if any company out there makes a DVI hub? Her monitor doesn't need to be able to display images from both computers at the same time; she just wants to be able to switch back & forth between the two computers. The only way to do this currently is by unplugging the monitor's input cable and connecting it to the other computer, then switching it back, and so on .... (This is obviously not feasible to do multiple times a day.)

I don't wanna ask anyone to spend a bunch of time researching this for me; I'm just asking if anyone knows of such a device off the top of their head. Thanks. 🙂

Um, I'm a bit confused. You say, "Yeah, there is," but then you say a KVM is "kinda the reverse of a hub." So it's not really a DVI hub then? Can you clarify a bit for me? 🙂

PS: What I don't want is simply something that mimicks a dual-output video card. That's the reverse of what I'm looking for.

a KVM switch will take 2 inputs in your case and has one output. it will either have a switch on the front of it to switch between systems or you owuld use a certain keystroke to switch between systems
