Is there such a thing as a wireless remote modem?

This is my situation, and my question is "is there a solution?"

This summer my living arrangements have me about 400 feet away from the nearest phone jack. I want to setup a dialup service using that jack without having to move my desktop computer to the location of the phone jack. Is there somekind of wireless modem solution that would allow me to allow me to do this? The signal would have to go through 2 or 3 walls and an entire building...

Any ideas?

happened upon your post looking for something else, hope its not too late to help

yes RCA and others make it.

2 parts

one part plugs ino a power jack, and you plug your phoneline into it.

the other part goes in the room where you need a phone jack.

used to be they would only do up to 28.8 but that was 2 years ago when i last checked.

A couple other companies make similar devices but the receiving end is actually a modem. For some reason I could swear IBM sold these.

Another option it to pickup something like a wireless router, they often have modem ports. You could put that in the other room with the modem and then add a wireless card to your desktop.
