Is there such a thing as a "meat-a-tarian"?

People that don't eat vegetables? And why are you a meat-a-rian or a vegetarian? I eat almost no vegetables (rice, fruits I do eat though).

Technical term would be "carnivore". Though I must warn you, being a carnivore is very very unhealthy for a person. Meat lacks many of the minerals, vitamins, etc, that are essential nutrients.

Yep. Eating nothing but meat would be unhealthy. --Not any more than eating NO meat, however.

aah, nothing better than a 22 ounce porterhouse steak :). really hits the spot!
I know vegetables are much better for the body, but if there was a plate of brocolli and a plate of fillet mignon, I won't be caught dead with the brocolli ;). Hell, I'd risk death for that fillet :)

No, it's not carnivore, cause you don't call vegetarians herbivores, right? But well, I eat fruits and stuff...anything I am not getting from fruits that are in vegetables? =)

some odd misconceptions... a carvivore does not just eat meat...

a carnivore eats animals .... the first thing most carnivores usually do is eat the guts of the new kill ..... this is where they get their veggies.... 2nd hand... if they did not eat the guts, they would die from lack of plant related vitamins, just like a person....

seals, for instance, eat fish .... not cleaned fish fillets ... whole fish, guts 'n all... needed vitamins come from the little fish's guts.

>> you an animal specialist? <<
of sorts, a hunter that lived in the African bush one time...

Oh yes ... also notice how carnivores feed on herbivores or omnivores & not other carnivores ???? a lion may eat another lion on rare occasion, but regular fare is an antelope or warthog ,etc. Gots to get them veggie vitamins.

Some interesting history... White men ... explorers were living with Inuits during the long artic winter. white man foods soon ran out & the whites ate red meat... after a few weeks the whites got weaker & started showing signs of malnutrition... The Inuits were fine.

Comparison of their diets showed that the Inuits ate all of the seal & fish( main source of food) blubber, cracked the bones & ate the marrow, guts, chewed the skin even, in short, everything... while the white men only ate the good looking red meat... most of the whites died before they figured out the difference.

moral of the story... broccoli & brussels sprouts aren't so bad after all.

meat-a-tarian......LOL hahahaha..thats a good one. i think i would fall in that category. i knew a friend that had a friend(you know how it goes) well, this guy could not eat vegetable because he was allergic. they snuck a peice of lettuce into his food and he broke ouot with a rash and couldn't breath. i see no problem with all meat but there was one....he has to take a BOATLOAD of viamins everyday to compensate for the lack of vegetables.

Yeah ok. So explain why I am healthier since I stopped eating meat. And don't say exercise because I have been slipping on that lately and I still get sick less and feel better.

Well, there was no name for it, so I just kinda took vege and put it meat.

Anyway, I figured I've lived this long without too much vegetables, it can't be life threatening or anything, and I wouldn't say I am unhealthy yakko. =)
