If you like water beds they go for next to nothing used. My queen sized one was $100 complete but I am not one of those people that freaks at the idea of sleeping in somebody else's bed.

ever used a dark light on ur bed?? :D

I dont think u want to

No but anytime you sleep somewhere besides home you have to worry about that. A little spunk aint gonna hurt you besides I have an old quilt as a buffer under the bottom sheet so I don't have to sleep right on the rubber matress. More comfy that way.

One other thing you can try is a Hotel. Some will sell their older matresses when they get new ones. That is probably to much for most people though :).

just get a futon now, they're not that expensive. I've been sleeping on a futon for about 3 years now and have no problems. Usually leave it in couch mode anyway. If yer REALLY cheap, just buy the futon mattress now and get the frame later. Otherwise, go to costco and buy an aero bed (as stated by another, only works if you DONT have cats.)

Look in the paper. I found a queen pillow top mattress and box spring for $350 from some clearance wearhouse place. It's comfy and it came in the plastic wrap so it works for me.

Go buy 9 cinder blocks, 3 2x4's and some wooden planks to put on top. Wallah! A bed under $50.

I second the Sams Club or Costco idea. They have sets for like $300. I spent about $800 on my mattress set and I wish I would have spent more.

$400 ones feel fine. The one I have was like $800 but it is the one my mom used to use and it is like 15 years old. Still feels great. Some air mattresses feel fine and they are under $100. I know Aerobed queen costs $150 at Target, look into that one.

Yep. I got my bed from sams. They also have a cheap frame that will hold it up.

Same with me, I got a full size set for $500ish. I cat took a real liking to the box frame though so I probably need to get a new one at some point.

I got my matress from San Gabriel valley. Is the best mattress I've ever slept on and it was only 200 bucks! I did a lot of research before buying but all the reviews basically said that you should buy whatever feels comfortable right away. There is really no formula to make "a better mattress". These spring mattresses are made in China. It is very firm which I like. The competition of furniture stores over there is cut throat.

Sheesh. I hope I don't get picky in my old age. I think the matress I sleep on now was $100 (new) and I sleep great every night. I wake up everyday feeling pretty good. My neck/back never hurts unless it was from something I did (ie straining it). I've been sleeping on this matress for at least 7 years IIRC.
