Is there still no such thing as a portable cordless gaming mouse?

I know about the G7 and the MX Revolution. Neither of them work for portability.

The G7 has a big receiver and the batteries do not last very long.

The MX Revolution has a huge stand and such that make it totally useless for portability.

Is there still no mice capable of gaming?!

MX revo? thats not a portable. The little brothers of it are though. Check out the VX revolution and the even smaller brother, the VX Nano.

The only time you can notice a significant response problem with wireless mice is when you are 10 feet away from the receiver and having dropped packets. Seriously, bandwidth for a mouse doesn't have to be high at all to be faster then a human can react.

G7 has a tiny receiver. It has a big charger.

Unless I'm missing something and the tiny USB stick actually HAS to be plugged into the charger to function?

I'd say it'd be a hell of a portable gaming mouse if you brought some charged batteries along. It's like $5 a pop for replacement batteries on logitech's site. Dunno how much shipping is though.

Buy a corded mouse and all your problems will go away. Portable + gaming should not belong in the same sentence.

I bought my Revolution VX for laptop use but when I sent my MX518 to Logitech for replacement, it became a temporary replacement. Although I didn't play any games with it, I found it surprisingly responsive and indistinguishable from the MX518. I have another wireless logitech (don't remember model number) and it does have a noticeable feeling when gaming or even on the desktop so I would recommend the VX.

A preference for a corded mouse does not mean that there isn't a market/demand for a cordless gaming mouse.
I'm sure it's noticeable for some and certainly more so in certain games but I have a feeling that the vast majority wouldn't notice this "mouse lag" that's thrown around.

I currently use the G7 and would love to see a 2 thumb button version.

No, the USB receiver does not have to be plugged into the charger to function. It's just there for convenience and provides an extra USB port.

Currently, the G7 is your only option though it's been discontinued, you can still find it sold at some places.

Personally, I use and really enjoy using the G7.
