Last I knew, 6 Flags bought both SeaWorld and one of the smaller theme parks... I thought it was a pretty good park, with the two combined.
Then, 6 flags sold it off... don't know what happened to either.

Of course, that article probably details it... unfortunately, subscription needed.

I used to live about 20 minutes from Sea World Ohio. Too bad it closed, it was a fun place! :(

its gone. i live about 5 minutes from there.

When six flags bought out Geauga Lake, it always wanted Sea World, and sea world was not profitable much at all. Six flags bought it out. they could not handle a whale and werent liscensed so that left, as did a few other animals, but overall a few stayed there, and admission was the same to both just pay to get into one and your in both for like $50.

Now Cedar Fair owns Geauga lake, and the side of the lake that sea world was on is getting changed, Cedar Fair is trying to turn that side into amusement park also. however Bainbridge township doesnt have a fire truck with a large enough ladder for any larger rides so it it believed that Cedar Fair is going to get their own fire department and everything. there also was/is an agreement that no rides were to be built on that side, however most believe that will fall through as the school system, and township can use the taxes from that.

It is a very big thing near me.
