Is there somewhere you can complain about the red dots in movies?

How is this such a big deal, if you are talking about 15 frames in a 90-180 minute movie? How is it more annoying than the occasional scratched frame, or bits of dust on a frame?

Sounds like much ado about nothing - 15 frames go by in 1/2 second. I saw a number of the movies mentioned here and have never noticed any of these dots.

How annoying is bringing a little kid/baby to a movie and have him chatter, cry and make noises?
How annoying is it to sit beside somebody that does not turn off their cell phone or pager and has it go off 5 times during the movie?

Not everyone can see the dots, but those of us who can, they are annoying as crap.

But a crying baby or cell phone will create distractions for minutes at a time and can interfere with your understanding dialogue, where the red dots constitute literally 0.5 seconds, 1/30th of a second at a time, and have no effect on your ability to take in the film. IMO the resentment about this has little to do with the actual red dots, and everything to do with people's distaste for the MPAA. I have seen Master and Commander and saw Kill Bill twice, all in a theater, and never saw any dots.

As I said before, not everyone can see them, but those who can they are sufficiently annoying enough to ruin the movie. Call it the Princess and the pea syndrome if you will
