Amazon.com price

This model is really cheap and does not have any reviews, which seems odd. Is there something I'm missing?

A comparable Sony or Samsung costs $700.. Is Toshiba no longer up to par?

After a bit of research the only things I can see are that the 26AV500U is one of Toshiba's new "economy" line of LCD TV's & come with a 10-bit video processer/8-bit LCD panel vs a 14-bit processer/10-bit LCD panel in the higher end models.

On the whole Toshiba is very comparable with any of the high-end brand LCD's like Samsung or Sony .... this particular TV being the bottom of the line is simply priced accordingly.

I'm scouring around trying to find info on this thing so seeing as I do post here from time to time I figured I'd help anyone else out that may be looking. I picked up this TV today and I mostly like it. so I'll give my negatives first.
1. Colour seems a little off at standard settings. Can mostly be adjusted to match reality.
2. The Menus have no transparency options so customizing some items can be difficult.
3. Puts off more heat than I'd expect from a TV this size.
4. Stand doesn't tilt or swivel
And now the good
1. It's cheap, wow is it cheap
2. Picture is great for the the price. It's comparable to LG and Samsung products that cost perhaps $200 to $300 more.
3. Unit is nice and light
4. Response times for gaming are pretty good

I'll put it through it's paces over the next few weeks, but I'll be surprised if I find anything more. I bought this thing for $499 Canadian and I think it's well worth that compared to other TVs found around.
