Is there something wrong with my videocard, or is it me?

I'm building a secondary system here. I just bouth a Chaintech GeForce 2mx400 and I'm having some problems. First of all, it's dog slow. I can't get it to work anywhere near where it should be on either system.
One system is a 2.26B and the other is an Athlon XP 1700+. Both system are well configured. With the 2.26b I get 73xx 3d marks with my geforce 3ti200 and with my athlon xp 1700+ I get 65xx 3d marks with my geforce 3ti200
With either system and the GF2mx400, however, I get 1500-16003d marks. According to the non-overclocked mad onion results I should be getting around 3000 in either system.
I also have an old 32meg Siluro GF2mx200 which has a core clock of 175 instead of 200 and uses SD instead of the DDR333 in this 400 yet it gets a higher 3d mark score! WTF! WTF!
Before changing cards I remove the old drivers and install a fresh set once installed. I have tried several different detonator releases with no success. The card functions but nowhere near where it supposed to and the mx200 pastes it.
Both systems seem okay in their bios settings etc since the GF3ti200 does so well in either.
Chaintech's support site (any country) is down at the moment so I'm not getting a lot of help there.
Is it possible that I just got a bumb card or am I missing something here?
Thanks!
