Is there something like Avia/Video Essentials for PC games?

Where you can set your TV/DVD's to the "preferred" settings, true blacks and whatnot. I would just use avia/ve but that only will let you get the dvd players preferred blacks etc.

Basically I just buit my new amd64 machine and have a dual mon card (6800GT) but my 2 dell crt's are way too bright and I could adjust them by eye but I would rather do something like what I do with my TV via Avia/VE.

Normally what you use for VGA monitors is a computerized calibrator that can automagically adjust your brightness/contrast/color profile settings for you. That's if you're *really* serious about getting true color reproduction, etc. (important for graphic artists, less so for gaming).

You could probably find some test pattern images/animations if you look around. CRT monitors are generally a *lot* higher quality than TVs (they have to be, to display high resolution/refresh rate combos accurately), so you generally don't have as many problems in terms of overdrive, overscan, washout, etc.
