Contacts for the first time...are a b!tch.

Just thought I'd share it ;)

I'm happy with them though. Using the Acuvue ones.
Luckily for me I have a relatively simple prescription (plus both eyes are the same). Buy them online if I wanted to.

I'm liking the 2 week disposable ones.
Wonder how long they'll "really" last.

Edit:
Is there some special trick to putting in the contacts?
Just wondering. Had them since yesterday and I got them in and out a few times over the course of a few hours.
I hope to really get use to them in a week since I have a whole week off.

Just curious if there's some special trick to it that I don't seem to get. Or if its just that you get use to them after a while.

I have the 2 weeks ones and they last like over a month. I just make sure to keep them clean.

I'd be scared as hell to touch my eye. I don't even open my eyes under water without goggles.

Disposable contacts last forever. I had (and still have) completely disgusting contact lens habits; wear them day and night, sleep in them, shower in them, whatever. I was averaging taking them out once every three weeks and never had any problems with them.

Yes, I know it's disgusting. I'm working on it, but the fact that I wore glasses since I was 9 (10?) and have completely horrible vision without them means that I really, really hate not having them in, even if it's just overnight. I like being able to wake up and see what the ****** is going on.

Guess I probably have some Lasik in my future.

You'll get used to it. Contact on middle finger. Ring finger of that hand pulls lower lid down. Finger on other hand pulls upper lid up. Lightly tap the contact to your eye, and it'll sort of suck it off your finger.

It's not hard once you do it a several times. I spent like 30 minutes trying to put them in when I first got them. I could barely even stand eye drops. Now it takes a second.

You'll get really quick at it with practice... Initially it's hard to touch your eye, eventually you won't care. It takes me a max of 5 seconds to put each contact in now.

Like everyone else has said it takes a while to get used to it, but then it gets pretty easy.

One trick i use to make putting them in; I put one drop of saline on the lens right before i put it on my eye. It keeps your eye moist and makes it less painful.

Another thing, if you have pets that shed hair (especially white hair) hold the contact up to the light before you put it in to check for any stray hairs on the lens; getting hair wedged between your eye and contact is not a pleasant experience.

Pop eye out, put contact lens on it, put eye back in
or
Super Glue FTW :p

I put it on the white part and then slide it over my eye. For some reason, I just cannot put the lens directly on the eye like my cousin. Same thing to remove it, I just slide it back on the white part and pull it out.

Taking it out is easy...you can always use pliers if all else fails ;)
