Is there some new spam worm/virus going around?

Is there some sort of new spam worm/virus that's spread recently?

In the last few days I've suddenly gotten 20-30 emails a day from mailer programs rejecting spam email. The email has my name as the originator, but on my box I can't see any evidence that it originated there, and tried a couple websites to verify that my machine isn't acting as a relay.

I'm used to maybe 2-3 a day, but this sudden increase is concerning... anyone seen something similar?

Lol, I've been getting those for months... and I know I never sent those emails, I probably wouldn't worry about it.

You might be infected with the new Netsky virus. Acts as an SMTP server and spams itself to addresses found on your disk.

<sigh> I wrote some pretty popular web pages in ~1996 that still get a decent # of hits, (maybe a thousand a week?) so the whole world has my email address in their cached folders...

it happens to everyone...doesn't mean you're infected...in fact, it's an exploit that randomely finds a server, scans existing email addresses on it, and just sends it from one;

it could be an infected computer in china that just found your email and used it
