I am tryin to pin down the motherboard specs so i can dnload the drivers for the onboard sound.

All i know is it has SiS530 Video. Other than that, i see no chipset, or markings of any kind.

any help is apprecaited!

SiS530 Video?

Is the board a microATX Super 7 board? Is it coppery in colour? Sounds like a gigbyte GA-5SMM.

If so then it uses ESS Solo1 sound driver.

try sisandra. it can give you specs of the motherboard.

nope, not a 5smm. the 5smm is at least labeled as such, this is an AT mobo. have dug thru PC CHips web site thinking it was that at first, but isnt....

How about some more information? Is this a store bought system from a major label? What shows up on the start screen when it is tests ram and such?

A pic would help too.

let us know.

belarc advisor got it... 🙂 thx... it was as system brought to me by a friend, no labels, that needed to be rebuilt...

Thx

If all else fails you can use the FCC id from the mobo along with model numbers. The FCC website will help you track the manufacturer and the other numbers will narrow down the model number, revision, etc. You can then use old web pics of the mobo to qualify your conclusion.

good luck
