Is there product activation in Windows 2000?

My brother just told me there is but I thought XP was the first? I skipped the Win2K products.. Went from 98SE to XP.

No, None of the Windows 2000 Products have WPA.

How about the service packs released for them? He said after te installation of SP2 or 3.. I thought it sounded a little strange but he usually knows what he is talking about.

nope.

They did alter the way the Win XP WPA works after you apply SP1 (to kill some illegitimate installs) so he may be thinking of that, however Windows 2000 has never included WPA with any of it's releases.
